Patrick's career as a musician started in 1989 in Switzerland when he picked up his first bass and got hooked instantly. After taking lessons and playing with local Funk and Rock bands for 3 years in his spare time, he decided to take music seriously, left his 9 to 5 job and moved to Vienna to attend a 1-year music course at the American Institute of Music. Thoroughly enjoying this experience, he extended his course and stayed for another year, performing in Vienna's music venues and meeting many musicians from all around Europe.

After graduation, in 1995, Patrick moved to London, established himself quickly in the music scene and decided to make London his permanent home. For the next 2 years, he performed with numerous Funk, Jazz and Latin bands in and around London, at venues such as Ronnie Scott's and the Jazz CafÈ and was part of the house band at the infamous weekly Funk and Jazz Jam Session at the St.Moritz club in Soho.

In 97, Patrick won a Scholarship to study at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston. This gave him the opportunity to take lessons with

great teachers such as Oscar Stagnaro, Anthony Vitti and Jamey Haddad and attend workshops with Marcus Miller, Trilok Gurtu and John Scofield. Jamming almost every night at Berklee, he met many great musicians from all around the world. One of these encounters led to an invitation to tour in Istanbul in 1999 with the Selen Gulun Quintet and subsequent appearances on Turkish radio and television.

Patrick returned to London in 2000 to play with the high-energy "Cuban-Funk" outfit Motimba, which combines modern urban grooves from Habana with Funk and R'n'B. In the following 2 years, Motimba performed regularly in London's latin clubs and did an Arts Council-funded tour through England. In 2002, Motimba was signed by Iris Music (France) and the band recorded their debut album 'Monkey Vibrations', which Patrick co-arranged/co-produced, in Paris. In 2003, Motimba performed as part of the La Linea festival at the Royal Festival Hall, opening for The Spanish Harlem Orchestra and did another Arts Council tour through England.
